Rialto Historical Museum

Preserving the Story of Our Community

The Rialto Museum Annex building was constructed in 1955 and later donated to the Rialto Historical Society in 1971 by Dr. and Mrs. Merlin Hendrickson. The generous gift also included the historic 1906 Christian Church, helping establish a permanent home for the preservation of Rialto’s history.

A Warm Welcome Awaits

As you approach the museum entrance from Riverside Avenue, you’ll notice the redwood sign above the arched doorway reading:

Rialto Historical Museum — Est. 1971

Just above the “OPEN” sign, the American flag proudly flies, a symbol of the community spirit that has sustained the museum for decades.

Step inside and you’ll be greeted by one of our friendly volunteer docents. Visitors are invited to sign the guest book before exploring at their leisure.

Explore Twelve Rooms of History

The museum features twelve rooms filled with carefully curated displays that reflect the people, industries, and milestones that shaped Rialto.

Exhibits include:

  • Early settlement artifacts

  • Historical photographs

  • Household items from past generations

  • Community memorabilia

  • Local business and civic history

Each room offers a glimpse into a different chapter of Rialto’s story.

Outdoor Breezeway Exhibits

Before you leave, take time to visit the breezeway just outside the museum. There you’ll find a wall of historic tools related to the growth of citrus cultivation, once a cornerstone of the region’s economy, along with additional artifacts that highlight Rialto’s agricultural heritage.
